In a post-match interview with the Liverpool Echo, Jack Harrison finally spoke about his choice to leave Leeds United on loan, having joined Everton but also holding talks about a move to Aston Villa.
Harrison, 26, left Leeds in the summer to join Everton, taking advantage of a relegation loan provision in his contract. However, the Englishman was connected with a number of Premier League clubs.
Injury slowed his start at Everton, but he finally made his debut under Sean Dyche on Wednesday. He began in a Carabao Cup win over Villa, who The Echo claims he also spoke to.
The winger was quizzed about his move from Leeds to Goodison Park, which sees our £11 million signing join the Toffees
without a formal contract. He stated that there is much to talk, but that now is not the time. “There’s a long backstory to it.” I need to sit down and properly explain it; I don’t want to say anything out of turn. It was a difficult scenario, but I ended up at Everton and was delighted to be there.”
Jack Harrison has finally spoken out about his choice to leave Leeds United.
It would be interesting to see what happens and what is said when Harrison believes the time has come to discuss his departure. There certainly appear to be some backstage activity that fans are unaware of.
Will he succeed at Everton? It does feel like a surprise move, joining a club on the verge of relegation, and Harrison is simply going to a club that has been in the same position as Leeds over the last two years.
