Barnsley now leading Huddersfield, Wrexham and Birmingham in race to sign premier league key midfielder

According to The Athletic, Barnsley and Huddersfield Town have entered the competition to recruit in-demand Brighton & Hove Albion midfielder Marc Leonard.
The Athletic’s Brighton correspondent Andy Naylor stated that Birmingham City, Oxford United, and Wrexham have all spoken with the former Scotland under-21 international.

According to Naylor, the Vancouver Whitecaps of Major League Soccer are also interested in signing Leonard. The 22-year-old has spent the last two seasons on loan at Northampton Town, helping the Cobblers win promotion to League One in 2022-23. Leonard made 97 appearances for Sixfields and scored six goals. The midfielder has reported for pre-season training while his future with Albion remains uncertain.
