Joe Hamilton, who departed for Texas A&M in February, is returning to Florida as Director of Scouting, a position he previously held after the Gators signed their 2024 recruiting class, according to several reports. He was formerly a personnel analyst in 2022 before being elevated to assistant director of player personnel and NFL liaison before of the 2023 season.
He left Florida to become the Aggies’ assistant general manager, returning to his home state and the place he attended college.
Prior to
Hamilton helped Napier earn the Sun Belt Conference’s top recruiting class three years in a row at Louisiana. Hamilton, a native of Texas, was essential in Lagway’s signing with Florida, as well as the Gators’ overall recruiting efforts in Texas.
With Florida’s 2025 class off to a rocky start, Hamilton’s return positions the Gators to enhance their class as the season unfolds.
Florida scored a significant recruiting win on Sunday when five-star receiver Vernell Brown III committed to the Gators, and they added another on Monday with Hamilton.
