The Milwaukee Bucks have signed Gary Trent Jr.
Gary Trent Jr. is coming off his fourth season with the Toronto Raptors.
In 71 games, the former Duke standout averaged 13.7 points, 2.6 rebounds, 1.7 assists, and 1.1 steals, while shooting 42.6% from the field and 39.3% from three.
This summer, Trent Jr. became a free agent and could sign with any NBA team.
On July 20, he officially joined the Milwaukee Bucks.
According to Bucks.com, “The Milwaukee Bucks have signed Gary Trent Jr.”
Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN was the first to reveal the details.
According to Wojnarowski on July 16, “Free agent G Gary Trent Jr. has agreed to a one-year deal with the Milwaukee Bucks, Rich Paul and Lucas Newton of @klutchsports tell ESPN.” Trent reunites with Damian Lillard and joins the Bucks, who heavily recruited him to compete for a championship with them. Trent Jr. was selected 37th overall in the 2018 NBA Draft and previously played for the Portland Trail Blazers.
In 341 regular season games, he has averaged 14.3 points, 2.4 rebounds, 1.5 assists, and 1.2 steals while shooting 42.2% from the field and 38.6% from three.
He’s also played in 11 NBA postseason games (seven starts).
The Bucks boast one of the NBA’s strongest rosters, led by Giannis Antetokounmpo and Damian Lillard.
They are coming off a season in which they were eliminated from the NBA playoffs in the first round by the Indiana Pacers.
