Football Insider reported earlier this month that Newcastle United and Fabian Schar were poised to begin negotiations for a new contract at St James’ Park.
A few weeks later, they say that Sean Longstaff and Joelinton are also in talks with the club about potential extensions.
While Joelinton and Longstaff have contracts with the team till the end of 2025, Schar has reached the final year of his current agreement, which is set to expire at the conclusion of the current campaign. According to Ezoic Football Insider, Eddie Howe is still committed to keeping the core of his team together and rewarding individuals who have contributed significantly to our remarkable turnaround from relegation candidates to top-four opponents over the previous 18 months.
This comes after Callum Wilson signed a one-year extension a few weeks ago, and it’s also believed that Bruno Guimaraes has reached a similar agreement, extending his contract until 2028 in exchange for a sizable pay raise.
