The OKC Thunder guard is following Chet Holmgren’s rookie timeline. On Wednesday afternoon, the Oklahoma City Thunder revealed that youngster Nikola Topic had underwent surgery to repair his partly torn ACL.
It was a long time coming for the youngster, who sustained the injury earlier this year while playing for Red Star Belgrade in the Serbian SuperLiga. The news that the operation has finally begun should be exciting for Oklahoma City fans, though, according to HoopsHype’s Michael Scotto, they should not expect to see their Euro prospect play anytime soon.
According to the NBA Insider, while the operation was judged “successful,” Topic “is expected to miss the 2024-25 season as part of his rehabilitation process.”
