BREAKING NEWS : Birmingham City are pushing hard to sign 21 years old striker before transfer deadline

Transfer notebook: Striker could be moving to League One, with Gross close to Dortmund move and Smith-Rowe on the verge of £34 million Fulham deal. Birmingham City are still in talks with Fulham about a £6 million move for striker Jay Stansfield.

Stansfield, last season’s player of the year after a successful loan spell, is Birmingham’s top priority following their relegation to League One.

 

A lot of Championship clubs have expressed interest, but Birmingham are looking to make a significant statement of intent. Talks between the two teams are underway.

 

Gross to join Dortmund in £8 million transfer.

Pascal Gross is ready to depart Brighton after seven years, with Borussia Dortmund poised to sign him for roughly £8 million.

Gross has been a major member of the Brighton team since his arrival in England in 2017, but he is on the verge of returning to his own country.

The 33-year-old was awarded Brighton’s player of the year last season and has 228 Premier League appearances for the club, scoring 30 goals and providing 45 assists. New Brighton head coach Fabian Hürzeler, who is two years younger than Gross, had hoped to keep the German international this season, but the club has now agreed not to stand in his way.

Brighton have already bought two central midfielders this summer, paying £25 million for Dutch midfielder Mats Wieffer and £6 million for Malian prodigy Malick Yalcouyé.

Brighton may potentially lose midfielder Billy Gilmour this summer, with Napoli expressing serious interest in the Scotland international.
Southampton seals £7 million Brereton Díaz swoops
Southampton have signed Ben Brereton Díaz, a Stoke-born Chile international, for about £7 million.

Brereton Díaz joined Villarreal after spending the second half of last season with Sheffield United, where he scored six goals in 14 Premier League games.

The 25-year-old has seven goals in 33 appearances for Chile, and his signing pushes Southampton’s summer expenditure above £50 million.

The newly promoted club has already committed £20 million to defender Taylor Harwood-Bellis, who arrived from Manchester City after flourishing on loan at Southampton last season, and £18 million to Flynn.

Fulham are working to complete the club record signing of Emile Smith Rowe from Arsenal.

Smith Rowe has departed Arsenal’s pre-season tour in the United States to finalize his £34 million transfer.

The 24-year-old is likely to become Fulham’s most expensive player and will look to regain momentum following a rough few seasons in north London.

Fulham have agreed to pay an initial £27 million for Smith Rowe, with an additional £7 million available in add-ons.

Thomas-Asante leaves West Brom for Hull.
Hull City are about to complete the £2 million acquisition of West Brom attacker Brandon Thomas-Asante and have made an approach for Scotland international Scott McKenna.

Thomas-Asante is poised to complete his move to the MKM Stadium within the next 24 hours, after West Brom grudgingly accepted an offer.

Albion face pressure this summer to reduce their salary bill and raise revenue in order to comply with the Championship’s financial restrictions.

Hull City, now coached by former Hamburg coach Tim Walter, is also looking to sign McKenna following his release from Nottingham Forest.

McKenna turned down an offer from Cardiff City and is now available for free transfer.

Stoke on the verge of signing Gallagher.
Stoke City are close to signing Blackburn Rovers striker Sam Gallagher for roughly £1.4 million.

Gallagher has scheduled a physical and is expected to join Steven Schumacher’s squad in the coming days.
