LATEST UPDATE : Wolverhampton Wanderers are reportedly close in signing 22-year-old Italian star

Wolverhampton Wanderers are reportedly interested in signing Lazio custodian Christos Mandas.

The 22-year-old joined the Italian club last summer but has only appeared in eight Serie A games, with Ivan Provedel serving as the team’s primary goalkeeper.

The Greek footballer wants to play regular football and may seek an exit this summer.

Wolves are interested, but will have to pay £17 million to obtain Mandas’ services, according to Corriere dello Sport.

The Midlands club is looking for a new custodian and is reportedly open to offers for Jose Sa.

The Portuguese started 35 Premier League games last season, surrendering 58 goals and keeping four clean sheets.

Jose Sa has turned 31, and the team may consider bringing in a younger replacement.

Wolves have been connected to Arsenal’s Aaron Ramsdale, who has fallen out of favour at the Emirates Stadium.

However, a deal for the England international is unlikely to be straightforward, as the Gunners may demand a high fee to allow him depart this summer.

Christos Mandas will be a good option for the Old Gold, but they will face competition from Southampton, who are also interested in him.

Wolves approved the exits of Max Kilman and Pedro Neto in two major transactions, but have only signed Rodrigo Tommy Doyle, Rodrigo Gomes, and Pedro Lima.

The Wanderers are anticipated to make other additions before the The summer transfer window closes on August 30.
