SHOCKING NEWS : Sean Dyche explains Everton’s pre-season injury issues as seven players could miss Brighton

Everton suffered multiple injuries throughout the summer.
Sean Dyche has claimed that there is no specific cause for Everton’s high number of pre-season injuries.

On Saturday, the Toffees face Brighton & Hove Albion at Goodison Park to kick off their 2024-25 Premier League campaign. However, Everton faced a number of fitness difficulties over the summer.

James Tarkowski, Idrissa Gana Gueye, Iliman Ndiaye, and Abdoulaye Doucoure have all missed a few games. Meanwhile, captain Seamus Coleman and James Garner (both calf) are uncertain to face Brighton, while Michael Keane has missed the last two friendlies.

In addition, Youssef Chermiti had foot surgery last week, and Jarrad Branthwaite had a minor groin operation at the beginning of the summer and will miss the game. Nathan Patterson is still recovering from a long-term hamstring injury, as is Stanley Mills (knee).

However, Dyche believes that the busy friendly fixture schedule’magnified’ Eveton’s slight fitness issues, and the club has ensured that none of the issues have become significant.

Following last week’s 1-1 draw with AS Roma, the Blues manager said: “It’s one of those things. It is extremely rare to be able to do something about serious cases. We’re only trying to keep the nasty ones safe. various climates, various pre-seasons, different styles, and, not to mention, different players coming in. You can.

Never quite – if it were easy enough to scientifically extract all of the information and do it right, everyone’s pre-season would be fantastic, and there would be no injuries. “Sometimes you feel like you’re on top of the world. But the guys are fit and have returned to form, so I’m pleased. Sometimes you simply have to say, ‘It’s one of those things,’ but thankfully we haven’t had too many serious ones. They’ve only missed a week and ten days, but it seems different in pre-season since you could miss two or three games in a week. That sometimes highlights the fact that they haven’t played in their games because you need them. That’s all it is; it just enhances it little more.”
