Portsmouth boss’ latest on returns of key attacking options for Luton Town with Kusini Yengi

Kusini Yengi is ‘touch and go’ for Pompey’s return against Luton Town.
However, Josh Murphy will be out for the next few weeks after missing the start of the championship season.

Blues manager John Mousinho has given optimistic news on Regan Poole, who returned to training today for the first time since sustaining a catastrophic knee injury in November. Murphy will miss his team’s first home Championship match against the demoted Premier League side after suffering an ankle injury against Charlton in pre-season.

It’s a closer call for Yengi, who missed the Leeds game due to a’slight’ groin problem, while new Australian Jacob Farrell is out with a knee injury. Mousinho stated: “All three of them (Farrell, Murphy, and Yengi) are still in the physio room.”

Massive credit' - Former Portsmouth boss hails duo's work behind the scenes and makes title claim following win against Bolton

‘They haven’t been able to return to the grass yet, but they are getting near.’I believe Josh and Jacob will be touch and go for a couple of weeks with Kas – it’s day to day right now with his groin, whether it tightens up or how he feels.

‘We’re keeping an eye on that issue and making sure that when Kusini returns, he’s fully recovered.’
