BREAKING NEWS: “I see a lot of similarities with [our] championship teams,” said by knicks icon .

The Knicks are a serious title contender going into this season.

Don’t only believe what I say. Knicks legend Walt “Clyde” Frazier notices it as well. The Hall of Famer and dresser was a member of the two championship teams that the Knicks won in the 1970s and is currently a longstanding alliterative colour commentator on Knicks broadcasts. According to Zach Braziller of the New York Post, he was on a panel discussing the Knicks at Fanatics Fest NYC alongside Jalen Brunson, Josh Hart, and other notable figures.

“I feel the energy,” Frazier remarked on Friday. “Starting with the coach, I see a lot of commonalities between [our] championship teams. Red Holzman and Tom Thibodeau have a lot in common. The players genuinely get along with one another, they play defence, and he holds the guys accountable.

“I believe that this year will be ours. It goes without saying that health will be a major consideration. But I believe the Knicks can return to their previous level of glory provided they can maintain their health.

The East division leaders will have tough competition this year: Boston, who won the championship and were easily the best team in the league the previous season, will return to the top seven. Philadelphia, if Joel Embiid, Paul George, and Tyrese Maxey stay healthy for the playoffs, could be a threat to win it all. The Knicks, with Mikal Bridges back in the fold, are in the mix of the top three, with Milwaukee and Orlando following closely behind.

Knicks all-time greats list: No. 2 Walt 'Clyde' Frazier

Fans of the Knicks aren’t fooled into believing they can beat anyone this season—they’re in the running for the championship. Any team that wins a championship requires a little bit of luck and a few breaks to go their way, but Frazier has executed flawlessly this season.

The Knicks might reach their old heights in this season.
