Portsmouth are negotiating a loan deal with a Premier League club and have ‘a decent lot of confidence’ that they will be able to complete it, according to the BBC.
John Mousinho’s men have finally begun their Championship season, drawing 0-0 at home against Luton Town on Saturday.
Pompey are attempting to re-sign midfielder Tino Anjorin from Chelsea on loan.
He was on loan at Fratton Park last season, and Mousinho enjoys what Anjorin brings to the table.
Mousinho is still looking for players, and the club is striving to get him a recognisable face before the window shuts.
Portsmouth may have to wait until the conclusion of the transfer window, but there is ‘a decent level of optimism’ that the deal will be completed.
Anjorin, 22, made 14 appearances for Portsmouth during his loan stay last season. A return to the club would also allow the Chelsea player to play Championship football, moving up from League One with Pompey.
