Following Saturday’s 2-1 defeat at home to Luton Town, Everton winger Jack Harrison has delivered a six-word message to Everton fans.
The Toffees suffered their fourth successive home defeat of the season and remain without a point at Goodison Park.
However, Harrison, 26, who joined the Blues on loan from Leeds United in the summer, insists the squad will ‘keep fighting’.
After making his Premier League debut for the club, the winger stated on Instagram, “Frustrating result but we keep fighting.”
Jack Harrison promise to Everton fans must now be implemented onto the pitch
Everton went into the game in improved form after two wins on the road with an impressive 3-1 victory at Brentford followed by a 2-1 win in the League Cup at Villa Park
Newly promoted Luton Town came to Goodison Park without recording a Premier League win so far this season but took a 1-0 lead against the run of play. Indeed, Sean Dyche’s side created the best opportunities in the opening 20 minutes, but found themselves 1-0 down as Luton took advantage of terrible defending from a corner.
The visitors doubled their lead seven minutes later as Everton once again failed to adequately deal with Luton’s threat from set pieces.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin halved the deficit before half-time and the introduction of Beto after the break saw the England international play alongside Everton’s £26m arrival for the first time.
However, Rob Edwards’ side held on to pick up their first three points of the Premier League season as Everton allow an opportunity to gain some momentum pass them by.
After a disappointing start to the campaign, Sean Dyche’s side appeared to have got their act together over the past couple of weeks, but the Goodison crowd was once again treated to a woeful display.
It is a worrying sign that the Toffees seem incapable of performing under the pressure of the home crowd, and an issue that Sean Dyche must address.
