The final, non-guaranteed year of the possible deal seems to be the last obstacle standing in the way of Brandon Aiyuk and the 49ers agreeing to a hefty contract extension.
Regarding the first three years of the proposed contract, Aiyuk and the 49ers are in agreement, according to NFL Media’s Mike Garafolo’s report on Friday. However, the standout wide receiver is demanding an adjustment to a non-guaranteed fourth year.

This is the reason the 49ers have stated, “We feel like we could still close this deal, so we’re not going to move and trade him away.”
According to Garafolo’s report on Tuesday, Aiyuk and the 49ers had exchanged competitive contract offers. The 26-year-old wide receiver was awaiting San Francisco’s decision on one more item.
