DONE DEAL : Wolves have completed the deadline day signing of Brazilian midfielder

The 23-year-old joins Wolves as the club’s fourth Brazilian, following in the footsteps of Joao Gomes and Pedro Lima, who moved directly from their home country to the Premier League.

Andre, a muscular defensive midfielder who enjoys tackling, joined Fluminense at the age of 12 and made his senior debut seven years later.

The following season, which lasted until the calendar year 2021, Andre made his senior debut, establishing himself as a regular and scoring his first career goal – a last-gasp winner against local rivals Flamengo, for whom Joao Gomes played.

By 2023, he had appeared in a Copa Libertadores final – the South American Champions League – when Fluminense won the trophy for theAndre | Men's First-Team | Teams | Wolverhampton Wanderers FC

first time at the expense of Boca Juniors, which resulted in a Club World Cup match against Manchester City. Following that achievement, Andre and Fluminense won the Recopa Sudamericana, the South American Super Cup, in addition to two Taca Guanabara crowns and two Campeonato Carioca victories, giving the midfielder six honours in Brazil. Success with Fluminense naturally led to Brazil caps, the first of which came against Senegal in 2023, however injury prevented him from making the Copa America squad that summer.

Andre departs Fluminense with 197 matches to his name, the most recent coming in a 2-0 win over Clube Atletico Mineiro on Sunday, so he comes to Molineux match fit and ready to play.Wolves 'accelerating' towards statement deal for Liverpool linked midfielder; transfer fee revealed

Sporting director Matt Hobbs stated, “It feels like a long time in the making. He has the same agent as Joao Gomes and is a player we discussed when we covered Joao. We hadn’t been in a financial position to do it before, even though we were interested. It’s one that I thought we’d miss, so I’m overjoyed to have him join us.

“He works hard, wins tackles, and gets second balls. He’s physically fit, and we believe he’ll thrive in the Premier League, just like Joao has. Our midfield suddenly feels like a true strength for us.

“I want the supporters to be happy about it, but remember when Joao arrived.

Across, he had six months to sit under Mario and Ruben and get acquainted to the country and the Premier League while playing off the bench. We have to give players time to adjust. “There can never be too many trophy-winning players. But this is a player we’re bringing up; he didn’t win his trophies on the way down. He earned trophies at a young age, and he’s continuing on his way up, eager to learn, grow, commit, and be a part of the project.
