BREAKING NEWS : Kate Martin Sends Strong Three-Word Message to Caitlin Clark

Caitlin Clark of the Indiana Fever and Kate Martin of the Las Vegas Aces made for an entertaining combo at Iowa. Clark and Martin had a well-known close friendship and played four seasons together at Iowa before entering the 2024 WNBA draft. Clark went first overall to Indiana, while Martin finished 18th in Las Vegas. Clark has had a remarkable rookie season, but Martin has primarily remained outside the Aces’ rotation. Clark and Martin have shared a moment each time they have crossed paths this season, keeping their bond alive despite playing in different conferences.

Clark posted on Instagram on Monday, September 16, for the first time since August 18. Clark received nearly 84,000 likes and 820 comments in one hour, along with a three-word note from Martin. “You amaze me,” Martin wrote.

 

Clark’s post was remarked on by several other WNBA and college basketball players, including Aliyah Boston, Flau’jae Johnson, Liz Kitley, Jada Gyamfi, Gabbie Marshall, and more. Martin has 400,000 Instagram followers, thanks to a significant following she gained while at Iowa. Clark is approaching 3 million Instagram followers.
Martin has played in 33 games (one start) for Las Vegas this season, averaging just 10.9 minutes per game. Clark enters Indiana’s season finale averaging 19.5 points, 8.4 assists, and 5.7 rebounds.

Clark and Martin might face battle in the first round of the WNBA playoffs. Indiana is locked in as the sixth seed, and Las Vegas might finish third.
