JUST IN : The Pittsburgh Steelers legend sent his advice after Broderick Jones was benched.

The Pittsburgh Steelers star offered his advise after Broderick Jones was benched. Pittsburgh — The Pittsburgh Steelers made an offensive line adjustment, benching previous first-round choice Broderick Jones and replacing him with current first-round pick Troy Fautanu. There are many uncertainties regarding when Jones will return to the starting lineup, and one club legend is offering wisdom during this trying time.

During the most recent episode of his Footbahlin podcast, Ben Roethlisberger offered Jones advise following the announcement that he had been benched for Fautanu.

“I know he’ll be frustrated. I believe the best thing for Broderick right now is to simply sweep everything under the rug. “Let’s watch it and figure out what happened,” Roethlisberger explained. “Was that technique? Did he just beat you? Sometimes these things just happen. He needs to watch it again, figure it out, double-check the technique, and determine what it was. Get it ticked off and leave it behind him. If you sit and linger on it, I’m not sure what coach will do next, but if you do, it will only pile up. He’s got to be prepared to step up and be the dude.”Cleveland Browns spurned Ben Roethlisberger for Kellen Winslow Jr.

Jones is still thought to be the only franchise left.

The Steelers are currently using their best five offensive lineman, including Fautanu and Dan Moore Jr., as tackles. Jones was removed from the game after one series due to three infractions. He did not return for the full Week 2 game.

It’s unclear what the strategy is going forward, but Jones will need to identify his deficiencies and step up in order to be a starter again in Pittsburgh. The Steelers want him to be “the guy,” therefore they will provide the necessary resources. However, it is up to Jones to take all of the advise he receives and apply it.
