JUST IN : Alabama’s Kalen DeBoer Boasts About QB Jalen Milroe’s Ceiling in Exclusive Interview

The Crimson Tide, led by first-year head coach Kalen DeBoer of Alabama football, are off to a 3-0 start to the season and are ranked No. 4 in the AP poll.

After this weekend off, Alabama will visit No. 2 Georgia in a primetime match on September 28.

Jalen Milroe, the starting quarterback for DeBoer and a Heisman nominee the previous season, is a crucial component of the Crimson Tide offensive and their goals for 2024. Milroe’s play will need to remain at an exceptional level if Alabama is to defeat Georgia and perform up to par the remainder of the way.

DeBoer thinks Alabama will be able to accomplish its objectives this season because of Milroe’s ceiling.

“It’s fairly high,” DeBoer said to Claudette Montana of Sports Illustrated. “Watching the ball leave his hand as I left the practice field today… It’s rotating. We’re just going to keep practicing the discipline that makes a great quarterback, whether it’s your weekly routine or your progressions. Simply said, all those distinct areas. You will never doubt Jalen’s commitment to hard work. You will never ask yourself why you ‘want to’. And he does it not just on an individual basis but also as our football team’s leader.

“His legs, which give him an added advantage, combine with his talent for throwing the football. You witnessed in Week 1 that when things go wrong, you just need to act decisively and run. And it goes beyond simple plays like shifting the chains. Those are plays with a lot of energy that can win at any time.”
So far this season, Milroe has completed 35 of 52 throws for 590 yards, eight touchdowns, and zero interceptions. In addition, he has added 36 ground receptions for 156 yards and six touchdowns.

On Saturday, September 28 at 7:30 p.m. ET, Alabama plays Georgia in Tuscaloosa.
