Ed Francis, Exeter City’s midfielder, says he is “surprised” by his recent goalscoring form.
The 25-year-old, who joined the League One club from National League Gateshead in the summer, has scored in each of his last three Grecians games.
Francis scored from close range to give City an early lead as they defeated Stevenage 2-0 on Saturday, their third victory in six League One games.
“I think it’s a really positive surprise,” added Francis, who also scored against Blackpool last week and in the Bristol Street Motors Trophy victory against Swindon on September 3.
“Adding it to my game is something I’d like to do.
“Goalscoring midfielders are hard to come by, so if I can keep scoring, keep playing and keep doing well then positive things should come.”
The victory pushed Exeter into 11th position in League One, coming a week after a heartbreaking late setback at Blackpool, where City conceded in stoppage time following Francis’ 88th-minute equaliser.
That is their first defeat in the last four games in all competitions, and manager Gary Caldwell is pleased with how his team is coming together.
“I believe in the potential of this group,” Caldwell told BBC Radio Devon.
“I think of the journey we’ve been on while I’ve been at the club, to win a game as comfortably as we did, playing at about six out.

“But I still think we can be better which is a great thing having won 2-0.”
