BREAKING NEWS : Man who died in police custody named by family

A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder following the death of a man in Swindon.

Police were summoned to a residence on Westbourne Court in Rodbourne about 01:00 GMT after receiving complaints of a serious assault on a man in his fifties.
According to Wiltshire Police, he was certified deceased at the scene and his next of kin was informed.
A cordon is in place as officials conduct investigations. The suspect, in his 30s, is still in police custody. Det Supt Chris Feerick stated, “This is a serious incident that has unfortunately resulted in a man losing his life.”I appreciate the community’s worry about this situation, but please be assured that there was no threat to the general public.”

A guy who died in police custody has been identified by his relatives.
Piotr Rak, 37, was detained at Gablecross Police Station in Swindon on Saturday night and became ill on Sunday morning. He was pronounced deceased at around 09:00 BST.

Family and friends have established a fundraising to return his body to Poland. It stated: “His death occurred unexpectedly. The family, overwhelmed with grief, was unprepared for this.”
Wiltshire Police has submitted itself to the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC), which has begun an investigation.
