JUST IN : West Ham United transfer update emerges after scouting Hoffenheim star

West Ham, Tottenham, Arsenal, Liverpool, Manchester United and Chelsea are all keen on signing TSG Hoffenheim striker Max Moerstedt, according to TBR.

The news outlet reported that the Hammers, Manchester United, Liverpool and Spurs have watched the 18-year-old German over the last 12 months.

It’s understood that Arsenal and Chelsea had scouts in attendance to watch Moerstedt play Midtjylland on 25 September, with him scoring on his European debut.

West Ham must act soon to sign Max Moerstedt amid the competition

Signing the 18-year-old is a significant challenge for the Hammers given the financial might and allure of competing clubs like Manchester United, Chelsea and Arsenal.

These clubs not only offer more substantial financial packages but also boast the prestige that could be more appealing to a promising young talent like the German.

Given this competitive landscape, the Hammers may have to offer the promise of consistent playing time, a clear pathway to the first team and pitch what they can do to help him develop into a quality senior player.

The urgency for West Ham to commence negotiations is palpable as early talks could potentially establish a relationship or an agreement in principle before richer rivals swoop in with potentially more lucrative offers.

However, with the club signing Niclas Fullkrug and having other strikers in their ranks, it remains to be seen if they’ll prioritise the services of Moerstedt.

They could sign him and loan him back for 18 months so that he continues his development and gets regular game time in Germany.

In other West Ham news, David Sullivan’s stance has finally emerged as Julen Lopetegui faces the sack at the London Stadium.
