Brighton star’s agent issues contract warning after Roberto De Zerbi transfer phone call

Brighton prodigy Julio Enciso’s representative has warned Albion that if they fail to agree on a new deal, his client would have plenty of options.

The 20-year-old Paraguay international now has less than two years remaining on his current deal, which expires in June 2026.

Brighton had planned to sign Enciso on a five-year contract in the summer of 2022, but the forward asked for a four-year term instead.

And, while representative Pedro Aldave has undertaken preliminary discussions with the Seagulls about an extension, it appears that no agreement has been reached.

Aldave told South American site Versus: “We spoke with Brighton throughout the first season. We have had multiple meetings with them, and we have a positive relationship with the club. It’s evident that other teams will be interested in Enciso, and if an opportunity arises, more than one will want to sign him.”

Enciso’s former manager, Roberto De Zerbi, is also thought to have failed with an unsuccessful transfer attempt this summer following his job at Marseille.Julio Enciso stunner earns Brighton and Hove Albion draw against Manchester City to guarantee Europa League football - Eurosport

The player claimed earlier this month: “He called me when he went to Marseille; he wanted me, but it didn’t work out. He left me with some excellent teachings.

“He expected the best out of me, but he didn’t give me the

No. 10 is for nothing. He expected a lot of me, challenged me when necessary, and informed me when he needed me.” Enciso’s spectacular rise in the Premier League was cut short at the start of the season when he suffered a ruptured meniscus in his left knee while practicing.Brighton star's agent issues contract warning after Roberto De Zerbi transfer phone call - Mirror Online

The injury required two procedures, but the Paraguay international is hoping to recover after scoring amazing goals against Chelsea and Manchester City at the close of the 2022-23 season, as well as against Arsenal (above). At the time, City was said to be interested in Enciso, who will represent his country in the Olympics this summer.

Albion manager Fabian Hurzeler is still getting to know During the pre-season, the highly touted attacker and German stated, “He is really young, and he has a lot of promise. He is exactly the type of player that Brighton is looking for—young players with a lot of potential. It is now up to us to help him improve and provide him with a positive atmosphere. I believe he requires a comfortable environment in order to perform at his best on the pitch. “That is now our responsibility.”
