JUST IN : Why do the Padres wear a ‘PS’ heart patch on their jerseys has been revealed

You may have seen an odd patch on the San Diego Padres’ jerseys during the MLB playoffs. So what are they?

The patch is a yellow heart with the letters “PS” sewn on it in black. It honors the late Peter Seidler, the Padres’ previous chairman, who died in November 2023. Seidler has been chairman since 2012, when he, Peter O’Malley, and Ron Fowler bought the team from John Moores. The Padres have worn the patch throughout the season to honor their late chairman, who was well-known in the San Diego community.
