SHOCKING NEWS : Charlton Athletic CEO Peter Storrie has officially announces his retirement following

League One side. Charlton Athletic has appointed Peter Storrie as chief executive officer on a consulting basis.

Storrie, 70, has previously worked in the Premier League for West Ham and Portsmouth. He was appointed by Addicks owner Thomas Sandgaard.

“He will provide senior leadership and oversee the operation of the business,” Sandgaard stated on the club’s website.

Sandgaard also announced that takeover talks with the Charlie Methven-led group had ended.

As a result, chief operating officer Jim Rodwell, technical director Andy Scott, and finance director Ed Warrick, all hired as part of the Methven bid, have departed.Storrie quits Pompey post | Football News | Sky Sports

Sandgaard stated that the bid failed due to “key items in the deal, which [the Methven group] did not meet, so I had no choice but to cancel the deal.”

Storrie has previously worked in Italy, Colombia, and, most recently, Australia with the Central Coast Mariners.

He was CEO of Portsmouth when the club went into administration in 2010 and remained as a consultant until the process was completed.
