While the player denounces officers for a racist attitude toward him, the police report indicates a haughty attitude and agr, he accused Providence police of racism on social media early Wednesday morning after being pulled over in Providence and cited for license plate and registration violations.
The incident occurred when the police noticed that the Jeep Grand Cherokee driven by Barmore had caught their attention because of its tinted front windows, meaning they could not see the driver, and an irregular provisional license plate that could not be read normally.
The Patriots linesman posted a message to ‘X’ at 1:22 a.m. Thursday with a blunt allegation of racism: “I just experienced for the first time five Providence police officers behaving in a very unprofessional manner. Racism at its finest.”
Barmore avoided making any further comments on the matter, so his silence only fueled versions in both directions (player and police) about the truth of the events.
For the Providence Police there is no doubt about their actions, since the police report is clear: “We tried to take control of Barmore, but he kept moving away from the police and stating that he did not want to be touched.”
Rather than immediately stopping, Barmore had “slow rolled” along Elmwood, the police say.
