The Los Angeles Rams have reportedly promoted Xavier Smith to the active roster and it’s exciting news for the player, but also for the team. Has LA found their new return man? Remember when Kyren Williams was listed to be returning kicks? Always interesting to see a roster on paper and then see what it actually looks like on gameday.

Rams make easy decision on Xavier Smith, sign him to 53-man roster (ramswire)

“Xavier Smith had been promoted from the practice squad to the game-day roster in each of the Los Angeles Rams’ last three games, but that’s the maximum number of times a player can be called up in one season. Therefore, if the Rams wanted him to keep playing in games, they needed to sign him to the 53-man roster.

On Tuesday, they made what was a very easy decision official. They announced the signing of Smith to the active roster, as well as the return of Geron Christian to the practice squad; Christian was waived from the 53-man roster on Tuesday.”

4 Potential Cooper Kupp Trade Scenarios for Los Angeles Rams to Consider (lafbnetwork)

“Recently, NFL.com highlighted seven players who could be traded soon. One of the names on the list included Kupp, largely because he’s good and because the Rams simply haven’t been competitive this season.

Even though no one wants to entertain the idea of trading one of the Rams’ best players, we pushed our pain aside and took a look at four potential Kupp trade scenarios anyway.”

Rams News: LA Opens Practice Window for Starting Offensive Lineman (si.com)

“The 21-day practice window is the three-week period during which teams see how far along a player has come since being up on the injured receiver. When/if a player is cleared to return to football activity, the 21-day window can be opened.

This is tremendous news for the Rams, who have been a depleted team all season long. Noteboom has been missed, and he is one of three starting linemen who have missed significant time, including Jonah Jackson and Steve Avila.

Head coach Sean McVay said earlier this week that Noteboom had a workout that could determine his availability for the rest of that week, and it indeed went well.”
