Jamie O’Hara thinks he knows the ‘perfect’ manager to replace Gary O’Neil and revive Wolves’ season

Gary O’Neil could be in peril if Wolves’ poor form persists throughout the season.

After eight games in the 2024/25 Premier League season, the Old Gold have only one point, a draw against Nottingham Forest. The tie at the City Ground came on matchday three, and Wolves have subsequently lost every game.

Losing late against Manchester City was an excruciating blow for Gary O’Neil’s team, which has not won a league game since April.

Jamie O’Hara identifies the ideal Gary O’Neil replacement at Wolves.
Wolves’ poor form has called O’Neil’s future as manager into doubt, with the Midlands club sitting at the bottom of the Premier League standings.

Things must change quickly if the Old Gold are to avoid relegation, with potential alternatives for O’Neil already being discussed.

More recently, talkSPORT analyst Jamie O’Hara opened up on O’Neil’s situation at Molineux, expressing sorrow for the manager before offering his opinion on who the ‘ideal’ replacement may be (via Shropshire Star). “The perfect guy to get in is Sean Dyche, but he’s at Everton,” O’Hara stated while speaking at the Copa del Cure tournament to raise awareness for leukaemia.

The commentator went on to describe what he believes Wolves require, considering that Sean Dyche has a huge enough workload at Everton.

“Or, you find someone who can implement a different style of football and maybe try and lift the players that way.”

O’Hara’s opinion is not likely to be shared by many at his previous club, Wolves.

Continue to make their way through the season. Wolves have too much talent to waste!
When you consider the quality of players O’Neil has at his disposal at Molineux, it’s surprising that Wolves are 20th in the league table. With no disrespect to other clubs at the bottom, Wolves have a plethora of top quality on their roster, making their start to the season surprising.

This is why some fans want to see O’Neil dismissed, as the possibility of wasting this bunch of players on a relegation battle is terrible.

Dyche may be the answer if Wolves need a get-out-of-jail card later in the season, but for now, all those affiliated with the club want to see is a Better football standards and outcomes.
