With their backs against the wall and with trade rumors swirling around arguably their best wide receiver, the Los Angeles Rams showed up in a big way on Thursday night against the Minnesota Vikings.
Sean McVay’s team pulled off the upset win 30-20 to climb back to a record of 3-4.
All-Pro wide receiver Cooper Kupp, who possibly could have played his final game as a Ram on Thursday, reeled in five catches for 51 yards and a touchdown.
McVay seemingly slammed the door shut on any trade rumors after the win.
“I’m really glad to have Cooper Kupp back with us and I expect it to stay that way,” the Super Bowl-winning head coach told the Los Angeles media.
This Rams team might be on the verge of doing what they did last year.
They started the season 3-6 before winning seven of their final eight games to get into the playoffs.
Well, here they come again.
They have rattled off back-to-back wins with Thursday night’s game showcasing the return of both Kupp and fellow Pro Bowl receiver Puka Nacua.
Up next on the schedule over the next five weeks for the Rams are the Seattle Seahawks, Miami Dolphins, New England Patriots, Philadelphia Eagles, and New Orleans Saints.
If this team plays like they did against an elite Vikings team, those are all winnable games.
Why trade your most trusted pass-catcher in Kupp if you feel like you can make another playoff run?
The Rams could certainly be thinking that way after what transpired on Thursday night.
