Working hard throughout offseason
Following the Indiana Fever’s early playoff exit, Caitlin Clark has kept herself busy with activities ranging from golfing to attending the Indiana Pacers’ Golden Gala fundraiser and watching a preseason game. Despite enjoying some relaxation, her major focus remains on sharpening her talents and improving her performance on the court.
There is also mounting talk about Clark’s prospective involvement in a new basketball venture, the 3×3 Unrivaled league, which will debut in January 2025. According to reports, the league is interested in bringing Clark on board and has prepared a large offer to do so. During a recent interview, she outlined her offseason intentions, emphasizing her commitment to ongoing progress; nonetheless
stayed silent on any future moves beyond the WNBA. “I feel like I’m just scratching the surface,” she told me. “I feel like there’s just so many areas that I want to improve in, and to continue to get in the gym and work on that every single day.”
A prospective offer.
Michael McCarthy of Front Office Sports recently revealed that the Unrivaled League is preparing to make Clark a substantial offer, similar to the blockbuster contract that attracted soccer star Lionel Messi to MLS.
The league’s interest emphasizes Clark’s growing impact, both on and off the court, as they look to capitalize on her star power.
Clark’s debut season was nothing short of remarkable. She surprised expectations by winning Rookie of the Year and making the All-WNBA First Team, helping the Indiana Fever end an eight-year postseason drought.
“Honestly, I feel like there’s been so many amazing moments, but it’s the moments that none of you see that I enjoyed the most, it’s not the basketball,” she told the crowd. “It’s the individuals I get to spend time with, whether it’s my family or my teammates. That’s what makes it special. These are the ones who know me best. These are the folks I truly care about. So, in the end, basketball is just basketball.
“People around me They are the ones who allow me to be good at it and be myself. So I don’t think there’s anything on the court that I would choose; yeah, there’s been a lot of great moments, making the playoffs, getting drafted, whatever it is, getting to the national championship game, that’s all really cool, but at the end of the day, it’s the people, relationships, and memories outside.”
