Former Sheffield Wednesday manager Darren Moore admits his interaction with Dejphon Chansiri has been minimal since his Hillsborough exit. Moore returns to Hillsborough this weekend for the first time since his unexpected summer departure, as he brings Huddersfield Town to S6.
Moore led the Owls to promotion last season, but that would be his final act after more than two years in the post. Moore announced his departure from the club three weeks after the Wembley victory over Barnsley. He has now taken over as manager of Huddersfield Town, and he returns to his old club on Saturday.
Moore was asked about any contact with his former boss, who has been particularly vociferous in recent months, ahead of his return. “Not at all,” the 49-year-old responded. “The only time (we spoke) was when they had the first game of the season and I just wished him well when they were live on Sky against Southampton.”I wished the club continued success. I texted him and wished him luck. I haven’t spoken to him since. That (departure) has received ample coverage in the news and media. My job is to bring it back to Saturday’s game.

“For me, it’s the next fixture and apart from me knowing the infrastructure of the club and going back in there and knowing my way in and out, that will be that.”
“When you look back at the time we had there, it’s been a history-making season for me, and nobody can take away the success we had over the two seasons I was there,” he continued. I was invited in to work with the club and help them turn their fortunes around, which we accomplished. Now that time has past, and I’m happy to be here as Huddersfield Town’s manager, and my thoughts and attentions are focused on this magnificent football club and attempting to.

Following Saturday’s game, there will be a two-week international break.
