BREAKING NEWS : Journalist shares Russell Martin sack update ahead of Wolves v Southampton

Southampton will travel to Molineux on Saturday for a critical Premier League clash against Wolves.

It’s a showdown between the lowest two teams. The Wolves are at rock bottom with only three points, while the Saints are just above them with four. Despite spending heavily over the summer, they have had a poor start, and Russell Martin is under pressure to keep his job.

Southampton has won two games in a row in all competitions, but most importantly, they won their first Premier League match last week, defeating Everton 1-0.

According to Alex Crook of talkSPORT, Wolves’ victory could bode trouble for Southampton’s manager.

Along with Gary O’Neil from Wolves,

Martin is also under a lot of strain ahead of the crucial match between the two teams on Saturday.Southampton are hopeful that Martin will be able to turn things around. He still has the support of sporting director Rasmus Ankersen, but Serbian billionaire owner “Dragan Solak has grown impatient” with the poor performances.

Huge game for Southampton.Russell Martin: Southampton boss has four weeks to save job
The Saints cannot afford to lose this game. If they lose to the bottom side in the Premier League, the fans will lose patience with the manager, and the board may feel the same way.

The victory over Everton will give them immense confidence going into the game, and another win before the international break will be huge for Southampton.

Wolves can score, but they are alarmingly weak defensively.

Southampton will face Liverpool, Brighton, Chelsea, Aston Villa, and Tottenham Hotspur following the international break, and they may struggle to win any of those games.

Martin’s tenure at St Mary’s might finish by the end of December, but Southampton could fire him if the Saints fail to beat Wolves tomorrow.
