Wolves are interested in signing Liverpool defensive midfielder Wataru Endo whenever the transfer window reopens.
According to Football Insider, Wolves are aiming to strengthen their squad in January, and they are interested in signing Wataru Endo, who is surplus to needs at Liverpool. The Reds appear to be willing to let him go for the proper price, and Gary O’Neil’s club is preparing to take advantage of the situation. Wataru Endo joined Liverpool in the summer of 2023 from VfB Stuttgart. He was a stopgap signing for the Reds, who had failed to capture their top defensive midfield target at the time.
While he had a decent debut season at Anfield, the Japanese
Arne Slot does not see defensive midfielders as a priority. The Dutch boss doesn’t trust him and has only given him 166 minutes of first-team action thus far. Slot has employed Ryan Gravenberch in the number six position, and the Dutch international has performed admirably in a position he is unfamiliar with. While the Reds are pleased with his efforts, their quest for a new defensive midfielder continues, following the club’s failure to sign Martin Zubimendi this summer.
They will once again seek to the market for a new number six, and they have the means to spend in the winter after doing little business before the season began. If the Reds manage.
To sign a new defensive midfielder, they will gladly allow the exit of Endo, who isn’t a key member of Slot’s team.
Wolves plan a move for Endo While other English clubs have expressed an interest in signing him, Wolves appear to be the most serious about their pursuit. They have had a dismal start to the new season, with only one win in 11 games. They are currently ranked 19th in the points table and are seeking to make the required changes to avoid dropping.
People at the club believe Endo can improve their cause, and they are prepared to make a move for the Liverpool season in the winter. With the Reds prepared to sell Wolves may be able to negotiate a deal for his services at the right price.
