Sasa Kalajdzic, the Wolves striker, has had a terrible couple of years.
The Austria international was signed by Wolves in the summer of 2022 as the replacement for Raul Jimenez, who had struggled since suffering a brain injury. However, Kalajdzic has been afflicted by poor luck since the beginning.
Kalajdzic had his second ACL injury in his professional career on his Wolves debut against Southampton, just days after signing.
After a long recuperation, he was finally healthy for the 2023/24 season. After struggling to earn minutes under Gary O’Neil, Kalajdzic moved on loan to Eintracht Frankfurt.
However, Kalajdzic’s injury curse struck once more after only a few games. He sustained yet another ACL injury and has been rehabilitating ever since.
But O’Neil has provided an update on the player.

Kalajdzic has been on the turf at Compton since October, and O’Neil has now given supporters an update on when he will be able to rejoin his teammates.

It sounds like we won’t see the striker in 2024. Kalajdzic expressed ambition of playing for Wolves in 2024, but the striker might still make an impact this season.
Even if he is fully recovered, he is unlikely to play much. Because O’Neil used him sparingly last season when he was available.
However, Wolves are in a dangerous position and may face relegation.
Finally, Kalajdzic is a one-of-a-kind attacker with the potential to score when Wolves struggle to score. He earlier scored vital late goals against Everton and Bournemouth.
Villarreal is interested in signing Goncalo Guedes in January, and if he leaves, the 27-year-old might be a replacement.
