LASTEST NEWS : Fermando alonso eyes a 2025 showdown with Verstappen. ‘I Could Make Things Harder for Him.’

As the 2024 Formula One season draws to a close, veteran racer Fernando Alonso is already planning a strong challenge to Max Verstappen’s domination in 2025. Alonso, who is 341 points behind the four-time winner, concedes that his Aston Martin squad is not competitive this season but suggests that the tide may reverse with impending modifications.

Watching from the sidelines”
At 43 years old, Alonso is still one of the sport’s best racers, but Aston Martin’s deterioration since the Miami GP has left him battling midfield teams like Haas rather than competing for podiums. Despite a poor season with a top finish of fifth place in March, Alonso remains optimistic about his future.

So far, Max has demonstrated that he does not have any weaknesses,” Alonso stated in Qatar. “He delivers on Sundays, scores points when the automobile is in good condition, and scores a lot of points when it is not. That is the strength required to win a championship.

While acknowledging Verstappen’s consistency, Alonso suggested that with the right machinery, he could offer the Dutchman a far tougher challenge. The Spanish Formula One driver Fernando Alonso of Ferrari sits in the garage during a practice session at Korea International Circuit in Yeongam, South Korea, 22 October 2010. “Eyes on 2025”
Aston Martin has big plans for 2025, including the entrance of technical genius Adrian Newey and an exclusive collaboration with Honda on the new power unit regulations. These developments bolster Alonso’s hopes of reigniting his title dreams.

“That will be a very nice thing—to try to be in a position to fight for the world championship,” Alonso told reporters. “We are currently not in that situation. Next year will most likely be difficult, but with the new laws in place by 2025, we will have a stronger chance.””A Widening Gap”
The 2024 season has been a bitter reminder of the disparity between Aston Martin and the top teams. Verstappen has held off advances from Lando Norris and Charles Leclerc, leaving Alonso well adrift. Even Verstappen’s teammate, Sergio Perez, has struggled to make an impression, scoring only 20 points over the last nine races.

“The Long Road Ahead”
Alonso’s confidence in Aston Martin’s future is based mostly on the team’s infrastructure investments and the prospect of a competitive car under the 2026 regulations. Until then, he is trying to squeeze every last ounce of performance out of his present setup, waiting for his moment to reclaim the lead on the grid.

If Alonso’s predictions come true, the 2025 season might produce one of the most compelling rivalries in modern F1, pitting the seasoned veteran against the current champion in a battle for supremacy.
