Belton, SC (FOX Carolina) One of South Carolina’s biggest starts is staying at home, as Belton-Honea Path’s Marquise Henderson signed with Clemson as an athlete on early signing day.
Henderson was a standout high school running back who established numerous records. He enters early signing day with just under 8,000 all-purpose yards from 47 career games and an amazing 11 yards per rush on 577 career carries for 6,369 yards. His high school career is still ongoing, with BHP playing Friday for the chance to go to the South Carolina high school state title.
Henderson, a consensus four-star talent, was ranked by On3 as the nation’s No. 164 overall player, the ninth-best player at his position, and South Carolina’s third-best player. 247Sports ranked him as the 211th-best overall player in the country, 12th-best at his position, and fourth-best in South Carolina, while ESPN placed him as the nation’s No. 211 overall player, 13th-best at his position, and fifth-best in South Carolina.
Henderson will report to campus for the spring semester, along with 13 of the 15 other players in his signing class.
