A New Orleans Saints defense is the latest player to be punished by the NFL.
The league stated on Wednesday that Saints safety Roderic Teamer has been suspended for three games without pay. The ban is for an undefined infraction of the NFL’s Substance Abuse Policy.
Teamer, 27, went undrafted in 2019 and signed with the Saints, his fourth career team, during the summer. This season, he has made only two appearances for New Orleans (with no notable statistics) and has largely been on the practice squad. Teamer will be available for reinstatement following his three-game suspension against the Green Bay Packers in Week 16 (when the Saints have only two games left in the season). However, Teamer’s sentence is less severe than that imposed on another NFL defense for substance usage earlier this year.
