According to Graeme Bailey, Leeds United are looking to conclude a permanent exit deal with Everton for Jack Harrison as the January transfer window approaches.
After a successful loan spell with the Toffees last season, the 28-year-old has rejoined the Premier League club for the current season.
However, the winger’s opportunities have been restricted in a struggling Blues side this season, as he has only started half of the games he has played.
Nonetheless, Harrison is keen on making the move permanent, though GRV journalist Bailey believes it may be a difficult arrangement to work out, telling LeedsUnited.News: “I suppose Leeds would prefer him to go permanently. I believe Leeds is expecting that because Everton has two domestic loans, Obviously, they are unable to do another. Are Everton looking? If they really need to do one, will Leeds take advantage and turn it into a permanent contract? “I don’t believe Harrison is desperate to return to Leeds at any time. I believe Everton is considering it, but they are going to change managers, therefore I believe they will attempt to avoid doing so in order to construct a squad that will have to wait until the summer for a new manager.
“It’s a complicated one, but I believe Harrison would like doing it. However, he is now not playing every week. I don’t think that speaks good for Leeds in this sense. I believe they would prefer to sign it off permanently. Obviously, they’re saving a lot on his salary.”He has not started the last four games. Lindstrom is currently playing extremely well. It’s a fascinating one. I wouldn’t be surprised if we saw him back in white next season. However, it is possible that they will change managers by January, making the decision difficult.

Jack Harrison’s departure would be a comfort for Leeds United.
There is no place for the winger in the Leeds United squad anymore, and while the Whites focus on promotion in the second half of the season, it would be wise for them to resolve Harrison’s future as soon as possible, knowing that it would be away from Elland Road.
However, as Bailey mentioned, the Toffees could make this one difficult to go through. Despite shining in blue last season, the 28-year-old has struggled to replicate his effect this season, with no goals or assists to his name.
With the Goodison Park takeover imminent and questions surrounding Sean Dyche’s future, the Toffees may be willing to postpone any long-term choices on players, knowing they will have the Leeds man until the end of the season.
The West Yorkshire club’s saving grace is that the player’s contract continues until 2027, so even if a deal with the loanee’s present club is not made, they will still be able to profit from him.
