Brighton & Hove Albion are presently leading the fight to sign Hammarby teenager Bazoumana Toure, who is wanted by a number of Premier League clubs.
Crystal Palace, Wolverhampton Wanderers, Manchester United, and Arsenal are all interested.
According to Fotboll Direkt, Brighton is the 18-year-old winger’s ‘current hottest track’.
They claim that after ten clubs expressed interest in Toure in the summer, Brighton had taken the lead in the race for the star.
As interest in Toure grows, it is believed that Hammarby is on the verge of making one of the Allsvenskan’s greatest transactions in history.
Manchester United, Arsenal, Wolverhampton Wanderers, and Crystal Palace have all expressed an interest in the player, although Brighton now lead the Premier League race. Wolfsburg, Eintracht Frankfurt, Bayer Leverkusen, and Atletico Madrid are among the clubs keeping an eye on him.
The rumour mill around the teenager hasn’t stopped since he joined Hammarby, but according to Fotboll Direkt, Brighton are in the lead.
They’ve been acquiring league talent for some time, most recently acquiring Malick Yalcouyé from IFK Goteborg in the summer after previously signing Yasin Ayari from AIK. After making his debut this season, the latter has since been a first-team regular.
FD has been informed that Brighton’s officials have clearly stated that Hammarby’s asking price For Toure, there is no problem. No official proposal has been submitted yet, but conversations are underway as they attempt to beat the long list of competitors.
