BREAKING NEWS : Texas CB Jay’Vion Cole announces intent to enter the NCAA transfer portal

The California product is entering the portal for the third time. The Texas Longhorns continue to see players declare their intentions ahead of the fall transfer deadline, with junior cornerback Jay’Vion Cole confirming on Tuesday that he will use the NCAA transfer portal. Cole played one season in Austin after moving from San Jose State during the Spring Transfer window. He appeared in only two games for Texas during his stay in Austin, the first against Colorado State and the second two weeks later against UTSA.

He transferred to Texas from San Jose State, where he earned honorable mention All Mountain West accolades in 2023 after starting 13 games for the Spartans. He played in all 11 games the previous season at Cal Poly. among the team’s contests Once his name appears in the portal, Texas will have at least seven players who have registered their intent to transfer, six of whom are on the defensive side of the ball.
