The Milwaukee Bucks have lost four of their last six games, with the trade deadline less than a month away.
A move to add defenders could be on the horizon as Milwaukee’s front staff looks to the trade market for potential reinforcements, such as a serviceable backup to Brook Lopez. A prospective trading partner may be an Eastern Conference foe, such as the Philadelphia 76ers. The Sixers have battled for the bulk of the season and are two games behind the Chicago Bulls for tenth place in the East entering Wednesday night. If another critical injury occurs, the Sixers may be major sellers at the deadline, given their roster’s reliance on win-now veterans.
Sports Illustrated recently projected the following transaction may go place
Bucks receive Caleb Martin and Adem Bona. Sixers gain Pat Connaughton and numerous second-round picks.
It is difficult to picture the Sixers agreeing to this deal unless Joel Embiid suffers another injury–Martin is simply too valuable and tied to a reasonable contract for the foreseeable future.
Additionally, Connaughton is not an NBA rotation player at this time, and the Bucks only have one second-round pick. Martin’s market would be more than just a reserve veteran and a second-round pick six years from now.
In Milwaukee, Martin is expected to start with Giannis Antetokounmpo, Damian Lillard, and Brook Lopez. Depending on the matchup, Andre Jackson or Taurean Prince may be benched. Martin is a highly wanted 3-and-D wing, providing

However, the Bucks were apparently looking for a lob threat to complement Lopez, and Bona fits that description.
