Portsmouth has recruited forward Emma Thompson on loan from local Barclays Women’s Championship rivals Southampton for the remainder of the season.
Thompson, an England youth international, was Chelsea’s best goalscorer in the WSL Academy League for the 2021-22 season before earning a two-year senior contract with the Blues.
She made many first-team outings and went on loan to Lewes before joining the Saints permanently in 2023.
Pompey manager Jay Sadler said portsmouthfc.co.uk: “I’m thrilled Emma has chosen to join us. She is an extraordinary talent who can make a significant impact to the squad.
“She possesses pace, combines well, has a keen eye for goal, can defend, and push. This makes us more unpredictable. This provides us more options going forward.”
