Magic Jonson’s proud comments for Commanders following the NFC Championship setback.
Following the Washington Commanders’ loss in the NFC Championship Game against the Philadelphia Eagles, part-owner Magic Johnson took to social media to finish his lengthy postgame statement to the team. Though his initial posts after the loss were intended to show respect to the Eagles, he was more contemplative in his social media messages on Monday.
“As I reflect this morning, I have to put my competitive nature to the side and remind myself that we’re only in the second year of rebuilding the @Commanders franchise—and look how good the season was,” Johnson said in his first of four posts on Monday. “I’m incredibly proud of this team for being competitive, unselfish and entertaining all year long. Playing in the NFC Championship is a true reflection of their hard work, commitment, and mindset, both on and off the field.
“With a revived locker room culture, transformative play on the field, and the revival of this brand, the Commanders are a team that players want to be a part of. A big thanks to Commanders Nation for showing up for their team. From proudly donning your Commanders attire to bringing energy and enthusiasm to every game this season, your support was incredible, and we hope you are proud of what we are creating!”
In all honesty, Johnson delivered his message perfectly in the first of four posts.
After receiving the second overall choice in the 2024 NFL Draft, the Commanders greatly improved their club in their second season under new ownership following Dan Snyder’s departure.
But Johnson’s message to the Commanders didn’t end there; he also mentioned head coach Dan Quinn and Washington’s coaching staff.
“I want to express my gratitude to Coach Dan Quinn and the entire @Commanders coaching staff for your exceptional work in developing our players and crafting winning offensive and defensive schemes every week,” Johnson wrote on Instagram. “Your efforts were key to reaching the NFC Championship game!”
Once again, Johnson was cooking in these social media posts. Looking at the effort the Commanders’ coaching staff did in guiding Jayden Daniels to a fantastic rookie season, there is a lot of success to be pleased of, even if they fell short in the NFC Championship Game against the Eagles.
The third installment of Johnson’s four-part social media honorary appreciation tour focused on Adam Peters, who took over as the Commanders’ general manager in the 2024 season.
Given his performance in his first season with the team, Johnson deserves a lot of respect for his efforts to quickly rebuild this organization, and he didn’t hesitate to say it on social media.
“I also want to thank @Commanders General Manger Adam Peters and his entire team for bringing in the right players who are competitive, have a true” dawg attitude “and always put the team first,” Johnson wrote on Instagram. “Our players and football staff have the winning mentality and want to play the game properly. Our entire franchise.
took significant steps in the right direction. We are changing the culture in the DMV, and I know that this is just the beginning of our potential. “Thanks for the ride!” To conclude his social media appreciation, Johnson expressed gratitude to the Commanders’ main owner, Josh Harris.
“I want to thank our @Commanders Majority Owner Josh Harris and all of my partners for recognizing what changes we needed to make this year and investing back into our franchise,” Johnson posted on Instagram. “It’s an honor to be part of this incredible ownership group!”
As the Commanders try to maintain momentum into the 2025 season and beyond after losing in the NFC Championship Game against the Eagles, their part-owner sees green fields ahead, which he painted in his four-part social media appreciation tour.
