JUST IN ; Huddersfield Town and Leeds United have recently come to an agreement

Leeds United and Huddersfield Town have recently come to an agreement on ticket pricing for their upcoming West Yorkshire derby at Elland Road, marking a change in Terriers chairman Kevin Nagle’s previous social media statement. This development is significant for both clubs and their fans.

The Championship season has brought back the highly anticipated Leeds away match, a standout fixture for most Leeds supporters, making Elland Road the ultimate destination for fans. Local derbies have become more frequent with Leeds back in the EFL, and Huddersfield Town is the next Yorkshire rival to visit at the end of this month.

As the match approached, details about ticket pricing for Huddersfield’s away allocation were revealed last week. Kevin Nagle, the chairman of Huddersfield Town, had taken to social media, criticizing Leeds for allegedly refusing to negotiate a lower ticket price, sticking with the standard rate of £47 for adults. This led to backlash from Leeds fans, as it was evident that Leeds had offered reciprocal pricing to all clubs in the division.

Now, there’s positive news for Terriers fans as both clubs have confirmed an agreement on reciprocal pricing, which includes a reduction in adult ticket prices to £20 for the game on October 28th. Nagle’s response to this development seems to reflect relief, as it appears he may not have been in the wrong initially. The LUFC Trust clarified that Leeds had made this offer from the start, but Huddersfield was initially reluctant to reciprocate.

In the end, common sense prevailed, benefiting both sets of fans greatly for a highly anticipated game just 11 days away. However, Leeds fans have not entirely forgiven Nagle for his earlier outburst. It seems his change of stance has left him somewhat embarrassed by his previous comments.
