Wrexham is carefully evaluating the fitness of Anthony Forde and Jacob Mendy ahead of the upcoming weekend fixture, according to a report by The Leader. This weekend, Wrexham is set to compete in League Two, traveling to Valley Parade to face Bradford City. Both Forde and Mendy have recently been sidelined due to injuries, but they are determined to make a comeback and contribute against Bradford.
Furthermore, The Leader’s report confirms that winger Ryan Barnett has returned after serving a three-game suspension. However, midfielder Andy Cannon still has one game remaining in his suspension following a recent red card.
Wrexham Selection Update
Anthony Forde, aged 29, has made nine appearances across all competitions for Wrexham this season. His return to the team would provide a valuable experience boost, as he has amassed almost 350 career appearances and previously played for clubs like Wolves, Walsall, Rotherham United, and Oxford United. Forde joined Wrexham last year and played a significant role in helping the team secure the National League title.
Jacob Mendy also played a pivotal role in Wrexham’s promotion from non-league football in the previous season. He was acquired from Boreham Wood and has seamlessly adapted to life in Wales. The 26-year-old is currently experiencing Football League action for the first time and has contributed with four assists in his eight league appearances.
Wrexham has successfully transitioned to a higher division and currently occupies the 5th position in the league table, narrowly missing the top three on goal difference. In their previous match, Phil Parkinson’s team secured a 3-2 victory over Salford City, with Jordan Davies scoring a late winner. With this momentum, they approach their upcoming match against Bradford, a team currently without a permanent manager.
