Huddersfield Town is currently grappling with a mounting injury crisis, which has severely stretched their squad depth and left their manager, Darren Moore, with limited options for team selection. The team is facing selection issues across all positions, with seven first-team players sidelined due to injuries. Additionally, their captain, Jonathan Hogg, will be suspended for their upcoming match against Watford after receiving his fifth yellow card of the season.
Despite these challenges, Darren Moore emphasizes that no one at Huddersfield Town will use these circumstances as an excuse. Still, everyone involved is understandably eager to see the injured players return to full fitness as soon as possible for Championship matches.
Here is the current status of each injured player based on the information provided by Moore, including the duration of their injuries and when they are expected to be available for selection:
1. Pat Jones – Hamstring: Injured since the October international break. The talented winger has faced recurrent
hamstring issues over the years, impacting his chances of breaking into the first team. He suffered his latest hamstring problem while with the Wales under-21s. The expected return date is unknown.
2. David Kasumu – Hamstring: Injured since September 20, against Stoke City. The central midfielder, who had
mostly been injury-free since his Town debut last season, experienced a recurrence of his hamstring injury. While there were hopes of his return before the international break, his availability for the match against Watford remains uncertain.
3. Josh Koroma – Groin: Injured during training last Friday. The winger missed the game against Leeds United, but
the injury is not believed to be severe. There is a possibility that he might be available for the upcoming weekend.
4. Jack Rudoni – Foot: Injured on October 17 against Cardiff City. The midfielder completed the game but left the
stadium in a protective boot and had to consult a specialist. The exact duration of his absence is unclear, but it is expected to be several weeks at least.
5. Josh Ruffels – Groin: Injured since September 20, against Stoke City. The defender had been playing through the
injury before the international break but had to be substituted due to recurring issues. He is on a full recovery regimen, and like Kasumu, his availability for the Watford match is doubtful.
6. Ollie Turton – Knee: Injured since February 11 against Wigan Athletic. The right-back had just returned from
another injury when he suffered the season-ending knee injury in February. His return is still some time away, likely around the beginning of the new year.
7. Danny Ward – Achilles: Injured since the September international break. The striker had been playing through
pain before being sidelined. Although there were hopes of his return in early October, his expected return date is unknown, and he is unlikely to be available for the Watford match.
