Manchester United is now working hard to appoint Unai Emery to replace Erik ten Hag.

Aston Villa’s head coach, Unai Emery, is unlikely to consider an offer from Manchester United if they decide to replace Erik ten Hag. Emery took over at Aston Villa just over a year ago, succeeding Steven Gerrard. Despite his previous struggles at Arsenal, he has successfully rebuilt his reputation at Villarreal and is currently enjoying his role at Villa Park. Under his leadership, Aston Villa has achieved 26 victories in 43 games and is currently fifth in the Premier League, earning 4 points from behind this season.

In contrast, Erik ten Hag at Manchester United is facing difficulties and is at risk of losing his job soon. The Red Devils are struggling in the Premier League and Champions League, with Newcastle recently eliminating them from the Carabao Cup. They are currently in eighth place in the Premier League, trailing Aston Villa by seven points, indicating that the two clubs are on very different trajectories.

Former Villa forward Gabby Agbonlahor believes that Emery will not leave for Manchester United, as the situation there is described as “carnage.” He praises Aston Villa for its stable ownership, good relations with the owners, and a happy playing environment. With a record of eleven unbeaten home games in the Premier League and strong performances in Europe, Agbonlahor questions why Emery would leave a successful and contented club like Villa for the turmoil currently happening at Manchester United.

Arsenal legend Martin Keown also predicts that Ten Hag will soon be out of his position at Manchester United. Keown criticizes Ten Hag’s performance, suggesting that he appears to be out of his depth, and states that if he continues to experience defeats, he is likely to be replaced.
