Enso Gonzalez shares what £20m Newcastle star Miguel Almiron told him recently

Enso Gonzalez is eagerly awaiting his opportunity to make it to the first team at Wolves, and the young player has disclosed that he had a conversation with Newcastle United’s Miguel Almiron.

In an interview with Versus, the Paraguayan rising star reflected on his initial three months at Molineux. Wolves secured Gonzalez from Libertad the day before the summer transfer deadline, investing around £5 million in the talented player. Sporting director Matt Hobbs expressed that Gonzalez would be training with the first team and competing for a spot.

However, Gary O’Neil recently commented that Gonzalez requires significant improvement, leading to his current participation in the U21s. Despite the challenges, Gonzalez shared that he received valuable advice from fellow countryman Almiron.

In his conversation with Versus, Gonzalez expressed his eagerness to play for the first team in the next match, but he acknowledges that O’Neil believes he isn’t quite ready yet. He understands the need for patience and revealed the advice Almiron gave him after the Wolves played Newcastle United last month.

“Miguel told me that he went through the same thing of not playing. It’s one day after the other, anything can change, and you have to be ready,” Gonzalez said.

While Gonzalez is eager to play, he recognizes that it may not happen soon. The transition from South America to the Premier League is a significant change, and he needs time to adapt. It’s reassuring to know that his compatriots, Almiron and Julio Enciso of Brighton, have offered support since his arrival at Wolves.

Both Almiron and Enciso faced challenges when they first entered the Premier League, making them valuable sources of advice for Gonzalez. Despite his current observation from the sidelines, hopes are high for Gonzalez, and with hard work, his chance in the first team will eventually come.
