BRADFORD CITY manager Graham Alexander has confirmed that the club will retain the registration of Brentford star

Graham Alexander, the manager of Bradford City, has confirmed that the club will maintain the registration of loanee Daniel Oyegoke for the 2023-24 season. Oyegoke, a versatile defender on loan from Brentford, is currently recovering from a shoulder operation at his parent club, Brentford, following an injury sustained in November during Alexander’s first match in charge against Barrow.

Initially, there were concerns that Oyegoke’s loan spell might be terminated due to the injury. However, after discussions with Brentford, Alexander disclosed that Bradford City will retain Oyegoke’s registration, having reached an agreement on reduced terms while he is injured. Oyegoke had made nine starts and eight substitute appearances for the club before his injury. Alexander expressed optimism about Oyegoke’s return to fitness, suggesting he could be available for the latter part of the season.

Alexander clarified that the cost of the deal is significantly lower while Oyegoke is injured, and the player is keen on returning to Bradford City once fully fit. The manager mentioned ongoing negotiations about the timing of Oyegoke’s return, whether it would be when he is fully back in training or just before that.

Regarding other loanees, Alexander has not ruled out the possibility of Rayhaan Tulloch and Chisom Afoka staying at the club. Despite the pair not featuring under Alexander’s management so far, the manager emphasized that opportunities exist for players, and he has not closed the door on their involvement. Both Tulloch and Afoka have break clauses in their loan deals in January. Alexander highlighted that the change in formation might pose challenges for players in those positions, but he encourages players to view every day as an opportunity to showcase their abilities. He emphasized the importance of keeping the team together and maintaining a positive challenge for players within the squad.
