Michael Beale sends message to Rangers staff as he’s linked with Stoke City manager job
Michael Beale, the former Rangers manager, took to Instagram to extend his congratulations to the Rangers’ players and staff following their victory against Real Betis. This comes amidst ongoing discussions with Championship team Stoke City. According to a report by The Telegraph’s John Percy on December 13, talks have been held with Beale and other candidates, but Stoke City is still in the early stages of reaching a decision.
Despite being sacked by Rangers earlier in the season after a 3-1 loss to Aberdeen, Beale acknowledged Rangers’ positive result in the Europa League, where they secured a spot in the knockout stages as Group C winners. Beale posted Rangers’ full-time graphic on his Instagram story, expressing admiration for the players and staff, stating, “Outstanding from the players & staff – well done Rangers FC. Fantastic performance.”
Beale’s departure from Rangers occurred in October, with a record of eight wins, two draws, and four losses in all competitions during the season. Despite a four-game winning streak leading up to the Aberdeen defeat, the team faced challenges in the Champions League qualification rounds and was seven points behind the top spot in the Scottish Premiership.
Beale’s Instagram post on Thursday night is seen as a gracious gesture, showcasing his character and allowing for a positive conclusion despite the challenges at the end of his tenure with Rangers. There is speculation that Beale could soon return to a managerial role, with Stoke expressing interest in his services as they aim to avoid relegation to League One.
In other news related to Rangers, Andy Halliday has suggested that Clement should exclude Ridvan Yilmaz from the Viaplay Cup final at Hampden.
