HITC Football has learned that Wolves are sending promising full-back Dexter Lembikisa to Scotland for the second half of the season. The 20-year-old Jamaica international spent the initial part of the campaign at Rotherham United, where he made 27 appearances and scored once. Despite interest from EFL Championship clubs like Norwich and Middlesbrough, Lembikisa is set to join Scottish Premiership side Hearts for the remainder of the season. This move is considered a significant coup for Hearts, currently sitting third in the Premiership table. Despite his successful stint at Rotherham, where he played in an attacking wing-back role, Wolves opted to recall him and arrange a move to Hearts rather than another English Championship side. The decision raises eyebrows,
especially considering Rotherham’s defensive struggles during Lembikisa’s time with them. Under the new Rotherham United head coach Leam Richardson, Lembikisa’s potential was better utilized in an attacking role. At just 20 years old, Lembikisa has ample time to establish himself, and this loan to Hearts could be a crucial step in his development before breaking into Wolves’ first-team setup under manager Gary O’Neil.
